DC asks officers to strictly monitor projects

TAWANG, 1 Jul: Tawang DC KN Damo urged the works departments to “ensure physical monitoring of all projects by technical personnel/officers of the department concerned on a daily basis.”

Addressing a district level monitoring committee meeting here on Friday, the DC said that strict monitoring would “ensure proper work quality du-ring implementation of projects.”

Speaking about his initiative themed ‘Keep mountains clean and green’, he urged all the members to be responsible citizens. He also elaborated the harmful effects of plastic and glass wastes, and informed the members about the ban on single-use plastic from 1 July.

“We have to rethink and redesign action plan as to plastic wastes,” he said, and informed the members about “waste management of glass/bottles with the support of the Indian Army, and segregation of plastic wastes.”

DPO Choiki Dondup also spoke.

Among others, the ADCs of Tawang and Lungla, administrative officers, panchayat leaders, and HoDs attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
