BOMDILA, 7 Jul: West Kameng has been selected as one of the target districts under the Nasha Mukt Bharat (NMB) campaign of the central government “due to very high incidence of drug abuse and addiction, especially among the youngsters, in the district,” said CO and NMB campaign nodal officer Kesang Wangda during an awareness programme on ‘drug abuse and drug addiction’, held for the NCC cadets of West Kameng, Tawang and East Kameng districts at the government college here on Thursday.
Wangda urged the students to stay away from drugs and spread awareness on their ill-effects.
Circle Officer Tenzin Yangchen offered tips and methods to overcome addiction and stay away from drugs. She urged the students to work hard and create a meaningful life for themselves.
The programme was organised by the 2nd AP Bn NCC, Tawang. (DIPRO)
