KHONSA, 23 Jul: A rare Asian water monitor was rescued from Paniduria village by Tirap DIPRO office UDC Gawang Sumpa from a fisherman on 22 July.
The baby water monitor, around two feet in length, was handed over to the Khonsa forest division on Saturday by Sumpa, and later released by the forest department in the wild, far away from the township.
