ITANAGAR, 18 Aug: Altogether 108 farmers participated in ‘awareness-cum-sensitisation and training’ programmes on ‘scientific rice cultivation and its management’ and ‘integrated farming system’, conducted at Sibuk village in Upper Siang district and Nongkhon village in Namsai district, respectively, by Pasighat (East Siang)-based College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF).
The programmes were inaugurated by CHF Dean Dr BN Hazarika and Maryang ADO Dana Moyong.
The farmers were apprised of the toll-free number 1800-102-3141 and the mobile based agro-advisory services in the local dialects. They were also taught about advanced rice cultivation and management of diseases in rice, besides mechanisation of rice cultivation, harvesting, and storage,” according to a release.
The farmers were also apprised of the benefits of integrated farming system.
