Army organises equipment display

PASIGHAT, 23 Jan: Sigar-based 56 artillery brigade of the Indian Army organised a display of weapons and equipment used by the armed forces, at the IRBn headquarters in East Siang district on Monday.

The programme was organised to instil a sense of pride, faith and confidence in the custodians of national security in the minds of the local people. It also provided a platform for civil-military interaction.

Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong, along with Pasighat urban body councillors and military officers, including Brig Manish Kumar, and others attended the display programme.

133 Medium Regiment Commanding Officer Col Kamlesh Kumar said that “the effort is to inspire the local youths to join the Indian Army to serve the nation.”

Besides the display of weapons and equipment, the organisers presented a mock combat operation, a pipe band performance, and a dog show.

Presentation of a folkdance by boy and girl cadets of the Niglok-based sainik school was another attraction of the programme.
