TEZU, 9 Feb: A two-member team from the Lohit Youth Library Network (LYLN) has reached IIT Gandhinagar (IITGN), Gujarat, to participate in a month-long training programme on library and reading enhancement skills.
“Library coordinator S Mundayoor, who has been invited by the humanities & social sciences department as a scholar-in-residence from 7 February to 6 March, will present a series of talks and interact with scholars, students and librarians on reading deprivation among the youths in marginalised and multilingual communities,” the LYLN informed in a release.
Mundayoor will also meet scholars from diverse fields in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, while senior library volunteer Bahailu Rangmang will undergo a month-long intensive training at the IIT’s library & institute archives, as well as at the centre for creative learning, it said, and added that “the team will also participate in various outreach programmes of the IITGN by presenting reading promotion demonstrations for students in the neighbourhood.”
