KAMBA, 17 Apr: The six days long Yomgo River Festival, which had begun here in West Siang district on 10 April, concluded on 16 April with prize distribution to the winners of various events.
Live music performances were presented by renowned artists like Bipul Chetry and Travelling Band, Jeli Tamin Kaye, Trance Effect (Nagaland), Yami Puri (Upper Subansiri), and others.
The prizes were given away by Tirap DC Hento Karga, in the presence of MLA Nyamar Karbak, West Siang DC Penga Tato, ADC R Rakshap, District Tourism Officer TK Kopak, panchayat leaders, HoDs, and others.
Tato and Karbak addressed the closing ceremony.
The festival featured adventure sports like river rafting, angling, paragliding, ipe-dinam (local rafting) and a ‘dance battle’, besides and ‘adventure park’ for children, which included rope climbing, Burma bridge, spider net, zip-lining, Tarzan rope swing, etc. (DIPRO)
