ITANAGAR, 20 Apr: Addressing a press conference at the press club here on Thursday, Arunachal Olympic Association secretary-general Bamang Tago briefed media persons on the just concluded Sansad Khel Spardha (SKS)-2023.
“The khel spardha was aimed at promoting sports culture at the grassroots level across the state by identifying young talents,” he said.
He informed that “a total of 3,535 athletes participated in the events, with 1,475 winners across the districts and zones competing in nine disciplines,” and added that the competition was for U-16 and U-18 youths.
Altogether 464 girls and 646 boys participated in the competitions, Tago added.
“Papum Pare district Olympic team won the trophy, while East Kameng and West Kameng won the first and the second runner-up trophy, respectively,” he informed.
Table Tennis Federation of India vice president Passang Dorjee Megeji also attended the press conference.
