ITANAGAR, 18 May: The Arunachal Against Corruption (AAC) organisation in a press conference here on Thursday demanded that the state government release all the detainees booked under the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (APUAPA), 2014.
Addressing media persons at the press club, AAC spokesperson Birendra Tallong urged the government to “reconsider the detainees on humanity ground as most of the detainees are from poor economic background and are not aware of the law.”
Tallong added that “we fought against corruption in the state
for 8-9 months in Jantar Mantar (Delhi) and we shall be standing for it.”
The AAC further said that “we are silent since we don’t have proper documents with us to substantiate this issue.”
It informed that it has submitted a letter to the chief minister, appealing for immediate release of the detainees.
