TRIHMS taking positive strides

In what can be termed a major achievement, a medical team of the state’s lone medical college, TRIHMS, implanted three Tesla MRI compatible dual chamber automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillators (AICD) on Thursday. This is for the first time in the state that AICD has been implanted. The 37-year-old female is said to be stable post the operation. Further, it has been reported that the cardiology department of the TRIHMS has till now performed over 70 operations to implant a permanent pacemaker. These are very encouraging stats and it will definitely boost the image of the TRIHMS. People of the state have massive expectations from them.

Healthcare is still a major issue in the state. Due to lack of proper healthcare facilities, people mostly prefer going out of Arunachal for treatment. However, not everyone can afford to go out of the state for treatment. It was hoped that the establishment of the TRIHMS would reduce the dependence on hospitals outside the state for treatment. The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has massively invested in the TRIHMS to improve its facilities. Finally, some of the departments are starting to perform the task for which the TRIHMS was established. Hopefully, in the coming years, the facilities of the state’s lone medical college will get better and the people will enjoy world-class health facilities.
