ITANAGAR, 15 Jul: A team of officials from the National Health System Resource Centre (NHSRC) and the Regional Resource Centre – North East (RRC-NE) of the union ministry of health & family welfare (MoHFW) visited Arunachal Pradesh from 9 to 14 July.
The team, comprising Dr Siddharth Maurya, Dr Musarrat Siddique, Dr Diyva, and Vaishnavi, called on the state’s health & family welfare (HFW) secretary and the HFW special secretary, and discussed the need for revamping the existing health cadres and creation of a public health management cadre.
The HFW secretary apprised the team of the formation of the state task force for the purpose.
The objective of the visiting team was to understand the present healthcare system of the state and to support the state government in creation
of different health cadres as per the mandates of the NITI Aayog and the National Health Policy, 2017.
The team also visited various health facilities, such as the Lower Subansiri district hospital (DH), the Papum Pare DH, the Yazali CHC, the Itafort UPHC, and the Siiro SC-HWC.
They interacted with the healthcare workers at these facilities, and with the members of the state branch of the Indian Public Health Association, besides state- and district-level officers and officials of the National Health Mission and the medical education directorate.
