PASIGHAT, 19 Jul: More than 200 members of various youth clubs associated with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), besides National Youth Corps volunteers and students and staffers of various educational institutes participated in a district-level Yuva Utsav organized here in East Siang district by the Pasighat unit of the NYKS on Tuesday.
“The event themed ‘Yuva shakti se jan bhagidari,’ was aimed at rekindling the spirit of patriotism and values of India’s freedom struggle by engaging the youths in various competitive events, progressing from the district to the state and national levels,” the NYKS informed in a release.
Addressing the gathering, Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong encouraged the youths to be “actively involved in the nation-building process, as the youths are the future of our nation,” and emphasized the significance of “sincere contributions towards making our country a global leader.”
Among the attendees were retired IAF group captain Mohonto Panging, PMC chief councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, and College of Horticulture & Forestry Dean BN Hazarika.
The event provided a platform for the youths to showcase their talents and engage in various activities to promote leadership, social responsibility and teamwork.
“It included contests for young artists, writers, photographers, practitioners of traditional art forms and folk dances,” the release stated.
