4th convocation of AU held

LEKHI, 9 Mar: The Arunodaya University (AU) held its 4th convocation ceremony at the university’s campus here on Friday.

Degrees were conferred on 180 graduate and postgraduate students on the occasion.

Perik Karga (MBA) received the university’s ‘Topper’s Medal’ for the 2021- ’23 academic session, while gold medals were conferred on eight other students from various departments.

The other gold medallists were Nang Sonika Munglang (MCom), Shan Sidisow (MA, political science), Tsering Wangmu (MA, history), Nabam Ankosoto (MA, English), Donu Ngomdir (MA, sociology), Kenrik Ete (MA, geography), TC Tadar (BA, sociology) and Rupa Sangbia (BA, political science).

Rajiv Gandhi University Vice Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha, who attended the event as a guest, advised the graduating students to “behave in the society as expected from the stature of degrees received by you.”

Emphasising that learning is an unending process, he said, “Your attitude and action must reflect the degrees you hold. While our endeavours must be to serve the society by being different, doing things out of the box, we must not forget the largely accepted format of life,” he said, and added that “understanding the format of life is important, or you will fail to bring about changes in the society.”

Prof Kushwaha also advised the students to “have clear focus in life and choose good friends who will create a positive environment of learning and growth.”

NIT Arunachal Director Professor RP Sharma encouraged the students to do what they love, have faith in their capabilities, and try to be different from others.

“It is necessary to spread our legs according to the size of our blankets. We need to have belief in our potentials and exhibit ‘craziness’ by being and doing something different from what the rest do,” he said.

AU pro-chancellor Prof VN Sharma, who chaired the convocation ceremony, congratulated the graduating students.

Among others, Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (DHTE) Director Alik Jongkey, DHTE State Liaison Officer Dr Ajay Kumar Mishra, Don Bosco College principal Fr Jose Karamullil, AU director Dr Suresh Verma, registrar Sohan Kr Jha, academic coordinator KK Jha, NSS coordinator MK Shah, and faculty members attended the event.
