Dental screening prog held

LEKHI, 28 Jun: The Assam Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (AMTRON), in collaboration with the NERIST’s Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) cell, organised a dental screening programme at the government middle school here on Friday.

The initiative was aimed at promoting oral health awareness and providing essential dental care to the local community. It was conducted by UBA regional coordinator Dr T Patel, UBA coordinator Dr M Mishra, and UBA member Dr Y Tamut, along with Drs Piyali Das and Santosh Tamang. The dedicated staff of the NERIST UBA also contributed to the smooth execution of the event.

Children and adult villagers received free dental check-ups, and were informed about maintaining oral hygiene. The programme emphasised the importance of regular dental visits and proper brushing techniques to prevent common dental issues such as cavities and gum diseases.

Dr T Patel highlighted the significance of oral health in overall wellbeing and encouraged the community to take advantage of such initiatives.

Dr Mishra spoke about the collaborative efforts of the AMTRON and the NERIST UBA in bringing healthcare services to rural areas to improve the quality of life of the villagers.
