ITANAGAR, 28 Jul: The West Siang district administration and the urban development department organised a cleanliness drive, themed ‘Clean Aalo campaign shramdaan’, in Aalo on Sunday, under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage, who launched the drive, urged the public of Aalo township to “keep plastic free-zone,” and advised the residents to “keep the degradable and non-degradable wastes in separate containers,” the DIPRO informed.
She also requested the people not to burn plastic products, as doing so pollutes the environment and affects human health.
“Living a disease-free life totally depends on the cleanliness of the surroundings and the environment,” the DIPRO quoted her as saying.
HoDs and members of SHGs, NGOs and the market committee participated in the drive, the DIPRO said.
