DAPORIJO, 27 Aug: The All Tagin Youth Organisation (ATYA) has submitted a complaint before the Upper Subansiri SP against one Gia Machik for uploading a video on social media on 24 August, “creating controversial statement and misleading information regarding the nomenclature of Si-Donyi Hilo festival to innocent people.”
In its complaint letter, the ATYO informed that the “controversial statement given by one Gia Machikhas created social chaos and misunderstanding among the people of Tagin community and deeply hurt the sentiment of certain section of the society.”
It said that “some section of society in Tagin community has been misunderstanding with the nomenclature of Si-Donyi Hilo festival, for suffix of new word ‘Hilo’, despite already been published in gadget notification by Government of Arunachal Pradesh.”
Machik’s statement (was) intended to “provoke and mislead the public regarding the festival nomenclature and may escalate the issue, creating communal disharmony,” it said, and requested the law enforcing authority to immediately initiate legal action against Machik “for his unnecessary interference to the issue of Tagin people and creating communal disharmony in peace-loving community in the state,” the letter read.
