Aalo police against drugs

Editor,

I wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Arunachal Pradesh Police, Aalo, West Siang District, under the able leadership of Kardak Riba, Superintendent of Police. Their tireless efforts in cracking down on drug peddling over the past few weeks have been commendable. Their dedication to making Aalo a safer place deserves immense recognition, as their continuous operations have led to the arrest of several drug dealers who are destroying young lives and families.

Aalo has unfortunately earned the reputation of being the “drug district” of Arunachal Pradesh, making the fight against drug abuse more urgent than ever. I also extend my gratitude to the Deputy Superintendent of Police Moge Bole, the Officer-in-Charge Lakhi Mena, and all their subordinates for their relentless commitment to tackling this menace.

Furthermore, I would like to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of Kennedy Bagra, Mother’s Vision NGO, and various student organizations that have been actively creating awareness about drug abuse and its devastating effects. Their efforts in educating the youth and society, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, are invaluable in this fight against drugs.

While law enforcement agencies are doing a commendable job in apprehending drug dealers, there is an urgent need to address the rehabilitation of drug users. Arrest alone is not enough, as many addicts fall back into the cycle due to a lack of proper support and recovery programs. In this regard, I earnestly request the District Administration, under the leadership of Hage Mamu, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, West Siang District, to allocate special funds for rehabilitation centers where drug-affected individuals can receive medical treatment, counseling, and vocational training. A well-structured rehabilitation program will not only help addicts recover but also reintegrate them into society as responsible citizens.

Once again, my sincere appreciation to  Kardak Riba, SP, Arunachal Pradesh Police, Kennedy Bagra, Mother’s Vision NGO, student organizations, and all those working tirelessly to combat drug abuse in Aalo. Let us stand united in this fight against drugs and work towards a healthier, safer future for our community.

Bage Kamsi,

Aalo,

West Siang
