ITANAGAR, 17 Oct: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the North East Youth Congress Coordination Committee (NEYCCC) organized a candlelight vigil here on Friday, seeking justice for singing icon Zubeen Garg, who died while swimming in the sea in Singapore on 19 September.
Expressing solidarity with Garg’s family, NEYCCC chairman Tarh Johny said, “In Zubeen’s death, not only the family and Assam but the whole Northeast has lost a true son of the soil.”
“The candlelight vigil is just a way of expressing our love and sympathy for Zubeen. If justice is denied and undelivered, the youth Congress of all Northeastern states will take to the streets in a democratic manner,” he said.
