MIAO, 20 Jan: An awareness workshop-cum-mobilisation drive on the Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) was conducted for Changlang district by the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (DSDE), in collaboration with the Changlang District Skill Committee (DSC), at Namphai here on Tuesday.
Attending the programme, Namphai-I ZPM Nangpa Mossang emphasised the need for collective effort to reduce unemployment. She urged the youths not to remain idle while waiting for government jobs, but instead acquire skills and contribute fruitfully to nation-building.
DSDE Director Sibo Passing highlighted the Chief Minister’s Yuva Kaushal Yojana (CMYKY) and encouraged allied departments to submit proposals for skilling initiatives. He called upon DSCs to mobilise candidates and ensure convergence of training programmes. He further advised young people to explore opportunities outside the state to broaden their knowledge and skills.
DSDE consultant Angshu Yadav made a presentation on the benefits of NAPS and SAPS, while DSDE consultant Tonuruchi Olimman made a presentation on the Chief Minister’s Soft Loan Scheme (CMSLS).
ITI Balinong Principal Subhash Pertin, representatives from the Fisheries, Veterinary, DPDO, Employment, and Textile & HandicraftsDepartments, besides representatives of tea estatesand the State Bank of India briefed the participants on schemes and opportunities available in their respective departments.
Representatives of empanelled third-party aggregators briefed the participants on available job roles, vacancies and training locations.
Dedicated stalls were set up at the venue to provide on-the-spot counselling and registration of interested candidates.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation of ITI Balinong trainees and a large number of unemployed youths of the district.
