Editor,

We, the aspirants, would like to voice our collective sentiments to the authorities concerned of the APPSC regarding the conduct of the upcoming viva voce for various posts of assistant professors to be engaged in the colleges of Arunachal Pradesh.

There is a unified voice and demand from the aspirants that subject experts of the subjects concerned, who will be sitting in the interview board, should be invited from universities outside of Arunachal, not from the universities of the state like RGU or the APU. If the subject experts belong to RGU or the APU, then there is a clear chance that the expert will be favouring his/her students during the viva voce, whom they have taught or guided/is guiding in their institution, and as humans, naturally it will definitely invite bias in their approach.

So, the mindset and the conduct of the subject experts in the interview will be a big question, as they might show favouritism towards their former students.

Inviting subject experts for the interview from outside the state will give a fair chance to every aspirant of the state, and it will definitely motivate every aspirant to face the interview board with confidence. Seeing the subject experts from RGU or the APU will definitely demotivate the aspirant’s confidence as they know that these experts assigned for the interview would naturally have their own ‘khaas’ (favorite person), and it will lead to bias.

Therefore, we appeal to the authority concerned to invite subject experts from other universities, not from RGU or the APU to maintain fairness in the selection procedure of the viva voce.
