ITANAGAR, Nov 25: A free mega health and hygiene awareness and medical camp was conducted by the Regional Ayurvedic Research Institute (RARI), Itanagar at Government Middle School, Jollang here on Friday last.
During the camp, Ayurvedic doctors from RARI, Itanagar, Dr K K Brahma, Dr Shriprakash, Dr J R Das, Dr Shobhit Kumar and Dr Dusu Shra Tabyo examined about 145 students, school staff, and public and provided free consultation, medicine and counselling.
The doctors also asked the people to maintain a hygienic and clean surrounding to prevent diseases.
Capital Complex-Itanagar, Prince Dhawan, who earlier inaugurated the camp, appreciated the institute’s initiative and advised the students to keep their surroundings clean and to adopt healthy practices linked with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Further, AD Scientist-4, In-charge of RARI, Dr Brahma informed that the institute adopted five villages and colonies this year in Papum Pare district to run weekly OPDs at Pachin, Ganga, Poma, Jollang and Chiputa, wherein consultation, medicine, haemoglobin and blood sugar tests will be conducted free of cost.
