NEW DELHI, Dec 6: ‘North East Flavours’ – a one-of-its-kind restaurant offering delectable cuisines from the entire Northeast – opened in the national capital on Wednesday.
“It is a proud moment for us that a youth from the Northeast is promoting the region’s cuisines in the capital. Food is something that unites everyone,” said Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, who inaugurated the venture.
The ‘NorthEast Flavours’ has adopted ancient, ancestral recipes. All the herbs and spices are sourced directly from the Northeast to preserve the essence of the dishes.
Bill Lotha, owner of the restaurant, who is also a passionate chef himself, has plans to open up North East Flavours franchises in all the metros of India and even go abroad.
“‘North East Flavours’ is an attempt to promote and showcase Northeastern cuisines and soft power skills to the world at large,” Lotha said.
