ITANAGAR, Sep 12: Responding to various complaints regarding the charging of exorbitant prices of the commodities, particularly agri produces by the vendors, Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner, Prince Dhawan and other officials visited the weekly Gohpur Market on Tuesday.
He stressed that a proper regulation of prices should be made and the vendors should strictly follow the prices fixed.
“No vendor should try to sell products above the fixed rates and if anyone is doing so, proper action would be taken against that person,” the DC said.
The team also directly interacted with the vendors and enquired about the prices of the items. The DC informed that a uniform rate for the items would be circulated at the earliest after necessary discussion with all the stakeholders.
The DC also asked Naharlagun CO, Moyir Kato to make a proper market plan including sitting arrangement of the vendors, proper parking place, separate space for vegetable and cloth vendors etc.
He asked the Member Secretary of Agriculture Produce Market Community, Okit Palling to ensure regular cleaning activities in the market area.
Continuing with the spirit of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the DC informed that cleaning activities would be carried out in every nook and corner of the Capital Complex from September 15 onwards and directed the Member Secretary to put up a detailed proposal for the same.
Secretary Horticulture Mimum Tayeng suggested that horticultural products may also be sold along with the agricultural products and asked the DC to include the same in the proposal.
