RONO HILLS, 17 Mar: A team from the state’s education department, led by Mission Shiksha Director, Sachin Rana on Wednesday visited Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) to discuss framing modalities to assess and evaluate the performance of the teachers working in elementary and secondary schools of Arunachal Pradesh.
RGU VC Prof Saket Kushwaha, who chaired the round-table discussion, termed it a welcome move and emphasised collaborative work between RGU and the government agencies. He advocated for more consultancy-based collaborations in the future.
RGU Pro-VC Prof Amitava Mitra, Registrar Dr NT Rikam, Controller of Examinations Dr Bijay Raji, Joint Registrar Dr David Pertin and the Professor in-charge of the university library Prof PK Acharya also provided inputs.
Later, the Mission Shiksha director visited the university’s education department and had a threadbare discussion with faculty members on the scope of achieving the objectives of Mission Shiksha in Arunachal Pradesh for improving the quality of education at the school education level.
Among others, head of the department of education Prof Kesang Degi, Director of Women Studies & Research Centre, RGU Prof Elizabeth Hangsing and APO to the Director of Secondary Education Shiv Prasad also took part in the discussion.
