ITANAGAR, Jan 10: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will focus on drug awareness and education in its proposed fifth state conference, slated to be held from 19 to 21 January at the Himalayan University campus here in Jollang.
This was informed by organising committee chairman, Tana Nikam Tara to reporters in a press conference held on Wednesday afternoon at the press club.
Hundreds of students from across the state are expected to participate in the conference.
Informing of the details and agenda of the three-day conference, Tara said that topics like commercialisation of education, corruption practices, and social harmony, along with other state issues will be thoroughly discussed by participating educationists and thinkers with the students’ community.
A brainstorming session on subjects relating to drugs awareness and how to revamp the educational scenario of the state will also be presented during the meeting, Tara informed, adding that the final draft will be adopted in the last day of the conference, where National Joint Organising secretary, ABVP, shriniwas will also present.
General secretary Nyanya Gollo said that the conference is being designed to inculcate sense of true patriotism and nationalism feeling among youngsters.
A mega cultural rally will also be organised from Zero Point to Ganga Market on 20 December to mark the occasion, which will be followed by an open stage public meeting at the culmination ground where student leaders will deliver speeches on current issues, he added.
