RUKSIN, Jan 18: Nari-Koyu MLA Kento Rina has appealed to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam living along the boundary to maintain peaceful coexistence and solve disputes amicably.
Rina made this appeal at the concluding ceremony of the 3rd foundation day programme of the All Boje Ao Welfare Society at Lumpo village in Lower Siang district bordering Assam on Thursday.
Saying that the people of Arunachal have been maintaining brotherhood with the people of neighbouring state, Rina called upon the people of Assam to upkeep the age-old cordial relations with the people of Arunachal.
“Any clash or incident at the boundary area should never be given a communal colour,” he said, adding that the Arunachalees prefer negotiation to solve any clash and dispute with their Assam counterpart.
Stressing on road development in the Assam-Arunachal boundary areas, the MLA said economic development of any area depends on surface communication network. He also urged the government officers to discharge their duties sincerely and work for the wellbeing of the people.
Earlier, the MLA inaugurated the ‘Ato Boje Pillar’ in Lumpo village, adjacent to Nari ADC headquarters.
Among others, Nari ADC Bani Lego, Galo Welfare Society President Dr JM Boje, Nari-Seren ZPM Kenyom Dabi, Nari Anchal Chairperson Yalom Sora and public leader Rekar Doye spoke.
Government officials, meritorious students, retired servants and cultural talents of the Boje clan were felicitated on the occasion.
