DAPORIJO, Jan 24: Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf in an order directed the M/s TK Engineering Consortium Pvt Ltd to repair the damaged Bailey bridge over Sigin River within 24 hours from the date of issue of the order and also start the maintenance and construction works of road from Bopi to Tai stretch of the Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH).
In its order issued on 24 January, the deputy commissioner stated that the Bailey bridge over Sigin River at Daporijo is severely damaged and the bridge has become unsafe for both vehicular and pedestrian movement.
It said that M/s TK Engineering Consortium Pvt Ltd has neither started the construction work nor maintained the road from Bopi to Tai stretch of the TAH despite several reminders issued to start the work.
“Non maintenance of road and bridges on the road stretches is not only disrupting vehicular movement, but also endangering human life and property,” the order said.
“The bridge falls under Bopi to Tai portion of the TAH, which has already been handed over to M/s TK Engineering Consortium Pvt Ltd for construction of the highway,” the order read. (DIPRO)
