Seven bodies retrieved

ROING, Jan 27: All the seven dead bodies of the victims of the 24 January accident at Mayudia, where a vehicle (Bolero) carrying 11 tourists from Assam fell down a deep gorge, have been retrieved.
The retrieval exercise, coordinated by the Lower Dibang Valley district administration, was undertaken over two days in conditions of heavy snowfall and rain – with risk to personal safety – with support and active involvement of personnel and machinery from the Police and the Fire departments, the 9th Bn ITBP, the Indian Army (Signals and 19 JAK RIF), the 752 BRTF, the 62 RCC, and Navayuga.
Traffic restrictions were put in place in order to expedite the retrieval of the dead bodies. (DIPRO)
