KOLORIANG, Jan 29: Over a hundred government officials and residents of Koloriang attended an awareness meeting on the prime minister’s flagship programmes, held on Monday at the conference hall of the Kurung Kumey deputy commissioner here.
Urban Development & Housing UPO Bamang Amar explained the PM’s flagship programmes, such as Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, and the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM) through a PowerPoint presentation.
CLTC engineer Tadar Raju also made a PowerPoint presentation on the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Housing for All.
Chairing the meeting, DC Kanki Darang, who is also the DUDA chairman, emphasized on keeping the town “clean, green and liveable.”
He advised the people not to litter public places such as roads, drains, etc.
The DC also called for segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, and suggested using biodegradable waste as compost/fertilizer in kitchen gardens.
Earlier, DUDA member secretary Riya Powak briefed the house on the aim of the awareness meeting.
A public interaction on the PM’s flagship programmes was also held, where the residents had their doubts clarified.
The programme ended with the swachhata pledge, which was administered by the DC.
