NAMEY, 30 Aug: Forty-five fish farmers participated in a ‘fishery health camp’ organised here in Lower Siang district on Tuesday under the mobile-based agro advisory services being implemented by Pasighat (East Siang)-based College of Horticulture & Forestry.
During the programme, the farmers were informed about rearing fish, fish health management, and economic viability of fish farming.
“The fish farmers were also trained about integrated fish farming system leading to the self-dependant of the local people for their domestic and commercial fish production,” according to a release.
The farmers were also taught about “the benefits of mobile-based agro advisory service through m4agri app during the programme,” the release said, adding that “scientific package of practices of fish cultivation was given along with lime input distribution for treatment of their fish ponds.”
