UIDAI asks citizens to update Aadhaar

ITANAGAR, 25 Nov: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has asked the citizens to update their Aadhaar cards with the latest personal details, so that there is no inconvenience in Aadhaar authentication/verification.

“Residents who had got their Aadhaar issued 10 years ago and have never updated after that in these years are requested to get the documents updated,” the UIDAI said.

“Keeping the documents in Aadhaar updated helps in ease of living, better service delivery, and enables accurate authentication,” it said.

The UIDAI said that it has “provided the facility of document update to the residents, through which the Aadhaar number holders can update the proof of identity and proof of address in their Aadhaar.”

This facility can be availed online through the ‘my aadhaar’ portal https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/, and one has to pay a fee of Rs 25 for updating their Aadhaar. Or one can visit the nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre and get their Aadhaar updated for a fee of Rs 50.

The UIDAI encouraged citizens to visit https://uidai.gov.in/images/commdoc/List_of_Acceptable_documents_ July2022.pdf to find out the list of supporting documents.
