ITANAGAR, Sep 19: National De-worming Day (NDD) was launched in Papum Pare district by the District Health Society on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Tai Kaye administered anti-helminthic tablets to students to mark the launching at Government Higher Secondary School, Doimukh in presence of DMO Dr Tasso Kampu, who also administered de-worming medicines to the students.
DRCHO Dr J Ado highlighted the aims and objectives of NDD, effects of worm infestation in human body and the need to take de-worming medicines periodically.
The NDD programme was further launched in all administrative blocks of Papum Pare district.
NDD was also launched at Lohit district by Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki, who administered albendazole tablets to children at the Tezu General Hospital on Monday. (DIPROs)
