NAMSAI, 27 Aug: A five-day training programme on ‘backyard poultry farming with improved variety bird’, organised by the Namsai Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Namliang village concluded on Tuesday.
During the programme, which was sponsored by the district ATMA PD, animal science expert Dr Binod Kr Borah taught the participants various aspects of backyard poultry and duck rearing.
At the valedictory programme, ATMA PD T Tingdok commended the KVK’s activities, and emphasised on promoting the “IFS model to enhance production and productivity.”
KVK Head Dr U Barua dwelt on the importance of livestock-based farming in the rural economy.
A total of 450 poultry chicks and 200 ducklings were distributed to 30 beneficiaries, along with poultry feed.
