Editor,
I write to bring to attention the genuine concern of many aspiring candidate regarding the upcoming postgraduate teachers’ (PGT) recruitment examination.
Although the official advertisement is yet to be published, the department has intimated that the examination will be conducted soon. It is important to highlight that in the earlier PGT recruitment cycle, which was postponed due to alleged irregularities and corruption, the upper age limit was 40 years. At that time many aspirants were eligible and had even qualified the recruitment test. However, due to the prolonged delay in re-advertising the exam, a large number of these deserving candidates have now crossed the age limit and many no longer be eligible under the current rules.
This situation is unfair to those who were ready and eligible during the earlier phase but have now become ineligible solely due to administrative delays beyond their control.
In view of this, I humbly request the authorities concerned to extend the upper age limit to 45 years as a one-time relaxation for the upcoming PGT examination. This will ensure that previously eligible and qualified candidates are not unjustly deprived of their rightful opportunity.
