PASIGHAT, 16 Jan: The Spearhead Division of the Indian Army’s Spear Corps organised ex-servicemen (ESM) meetings across Subansiri, Siyom and Siang valleys to commemorate the Armed Forces Veterans’ Day, paying tribute to the distinguished service, supreme sacrifice and lifelong commitment of the nation’s veterans, according an Indian Army release.
The event served as a platform to convey gratitude to the ex-servicemen for their invaluable contributions to national security and nation-building. Warm greetings were extended to all veterans and their families, acknowledging their enduring role in strengthening the social, moral and security fabric of the nation, the release said.
The ESM meets also facilitated meaningful interactions between serving personnel and veterans, fostering camaraderie and mutual respect and reinforcing the timeless bond that unites generations of soldiers. The exchange of experiences and shared values highlighted the continued relevance of veterans in inspiring serving troops and the younger generation alike.
