Editor,

I’m writing to express concern over the recent APPSC advertisement for assistant professor positions, which uses a 1:3 ratio based on graduation and postgraduation marks/scores. This criterion may unfairly disadvantage candidates who graduated before 2015, as the examination system has undergone significant changes.

Before 2015, the annual examination system was in place, whereas the semester system was introduced later, leading to differences in scoring patterns. Students under the semester system often score higher (75% being normal) compared to the annual system (hardly 60%). Additionally, private and government universities have different marking systems.

Considering my age, this might be my last chance to appear for an interview, as the next advertisement may not be notified for several years, and my age might exceed the limit.

I request the AAPSU and the ANSU to look into this matter and urge the government to reconsider the ratio system to ensure fairness for all candidates
