LONGDING, May 29: The Longding District Students’ Union has urged the education department to supply textbooks and uniforms to the schools in the district, saying the items have not been supplied to the district in the last two academic sessions.
In a press release, the union also said it will check the alleged issuance of ST and PR certificates to non-Wancho and non-APST persons by the authorities of various Wancho villages.
It said will also check the quality of implementation of developmental schemes in the district.
The union will organize football and volleyball tournaments for boys, in memory of former AAPSU general secretary Pongsa Saham, on Independence Day, it added.
