DAMBUK, Jun 1: Already connected to Roing by the Sikang bridge earlier this year, now Dambuk, in Lower Dibang Valley district, is also connected at the other end to East Siang HQ Pasighat by a temporary iron bridge over Mekong stream, until the concrete bridge over the Sisar river is completed.
WRD Parliamentary Secretary Gum Tayeng on Thursday announced the opening of the Dambuk-Pasighat route with an APSTS Sumo service for ferrying passengers on the route.
Tayeng also visited the bridge construction site at the Sisar river and took stock of the work.
After being updated by officials of the construction agency and government officials, Tayeng, who is also the local MLA, assured to take up the issues related to early completion of the bridge, as well as cleaning the debris being dumped in the Sisar river, with the authorities concerned.
Among others, Dambuk ADC Atul Tayeng, WRD AE Akhor Modi, PWD AE Abu Pertin, and Sikang Sisar Conservation Society chairman Ayem Modi accompanied the MLA.
Meanwhile, Tayeng lauded student Akkey Ratan for topping the CBSE exam.
“She has made Dambuk and the GHSS Dambuk proud by being among the top five toppers in the state,” the MLA said.
