ITANAGAR, Jun 2: Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) Chowna Mein assured the Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) that their demands, including implementation of the revised allowances for the state government employees, would be taken up in the state cabinet for discussion, “with due approval from the chief minister.”
Mein gave this assurance to the members of the central executive committee of the CoSAAP, when they called on him at his official residence here on Saturday.
The CoSAAP has been demanding implementation of the revised allowances, such as non-practice allowance for doctors, house rent allowance, restoration of medical reimbursement, etc, besides timely meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committees (DPC), among other things.
The CoSAAP team, headed by its president Pate Marik, told the DCM that the state government, through an order (No FIN/E-II/28/2017, dated 2/4/2018) has granted the HRA, TA/DA Rules, TLA,and CEA to the officers of All India services serving in the state, while the same has not been granted to the state government employees.
They said medical reimbursement for the state government employees had been discontinued after the implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance Scheme (APCMUHIS) in 2014.
It has not been restored even after the APCMUHIS was scrapped or discontinued in 2016, they said.
The CoSAAP team urged the state government to either restore the old system of medical reimbursement or implement the All India Medical Attendance Rules for the state government employees, as per the recommendation of the 7th CPC.
The CoSAAP also called for strict adherence to the government notification for holding DPC meeting every six months by the all the departments to ensure timely promotion of deserving employee(s). (PRO to DCM)
