ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Cleanliness drive and public meeting were organized by the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit to mark the closing ceremony of the birth centenary celebration of Pundit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya at Chandranagar here on Tuesday.
A cleanliness drive was conducted from Dera Natung Government College gate to Chandranagar market area, which was followed by a public meeting.
Speaking as a resource person, Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs and Education, Pani Taram dealt at length on the life history and philosophy of Pundit Deen Dayal.
State BJP Vice President and Chief Spokesperson, Dominic Tadar called upon the people to extend full support to the Prime Minister for building a new India by 2022.
Senior party leader, Techi Necha, former IMC Chief Councillor, Higio Aruni, Councillor, Gora Lotak and Deputy Chief Councillor, Tarh Nachung also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the life and ideology of Pundit Deen Dayal.
More than a thousand people, including state BJP Vice President Kenyir Ringu and former MLA Tani Loffa, senior party leaders and office bearers, members of bazaar committee and general public attended the programme.
The closing ceremony was also organized across the state at the districts and Mandals on Monday.
