NEW DELHI, Jul 7: Member of Parliament Ninong Ering met Union Communications Minister Manoj Sinha here on Friday and urged him to instruct the authorities concerned to install BSNL mobile towers in far-flung areas of Arunachal Pradesh at the earliest.
In a letter he submitted to the union minister during the meeting, Ering expressed surprise over the continued delay in providing telecom network in remote areas of the state, and said despite Sinha’s assurance to speed up telecom connectivity activities in the state, “there is no big development on ground level.
“Arunachal Pradesh is not only a security sensitive state but is also facing the biggest challenge due to erratic climatic condition. Installation of mobile towers will enable the people of remote and far-flung areas along the China and Myanmar borders to have modern means of telecommunication,” Ering, who has been raising the telecom connectivity issue for the last few years, said.
