NIRJULI, Jul 13: Students of the government secondary school here were apprised of the ill effects of drugs abuse and alcoholism, and ways to prevent them, during a workshop on Friday.
Social workers headed by Raju Ghising also informed the students about the roles and functions of the one-stop centres, legal aid clinics, the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, and the POCSO Act.
Around 80 students of the school attended the workshop, which was organized by the students of MSW of Rajiv Gandhi University and Guwahati-based NERIM Group of Institutions. It was supported by the union women & child development ministry.
