DMO advocates holistic approach

ZIRO, Jul 13: Lower Subansiri DMO Dr Tage Kano called for a holistic approach by all the members of the medical fraternity “to create productive lives that would contribute to nation-building.
“We need to assimilate all the goods of services and ensure a healthy society,” Dr Kano said, addressing a review meeting of the District Health Society here on Friday.
Viewing seriously the absence of a few officers of vertical programmes under the National Health Mission (NHM), he said, “NHM is a concept to converge all the health programmes under one umbrella. Therefore all the officers and coordinators of various health programmes should attend the review meetings, as such meetings provide a platform for all to share ideas, retrospect, adopt corrective measures, and work out solutions.”
He directed all the MOs to utilize funds judiciously and ensure that lifesaving drugs and equipment like oxygen tanks are available in the PHCs and CHCs throughout the year.
The MOs and programme officers of various health programmes like RNTCP, DVBDCP, IDSP, etc, made PowerPoint presentations on their performances and challenges.
Besides doctors and paramedical staff, EAC Hage Tarung, DDSE Hibu Tama, and ICDS DD (in-charge) Hage Indira attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
