ITANAGAR, Jul 25: The government spokesperson has said that state government and the BJP is yet to receive any communication regarding the joining of the seven Peoples’ Party of Arunachal (PPA) MLAs to Nationalist Peoples’ Party (NPP).
Government Spokesperson Bamang Felix in a press briefing said that the government and the party are yet to receive any communication of the change in party by the NPP or the legislators.
When reporters enquired on the reported High Court judgment on “unconstitutional” appointment of parliamentary secretaries, Felix informed that “the government is ready to comply with the court direction, and the parliamentary secretaries have also given their consent to resign morally once the court final verdict is out”.
Addressing the media at a press conference which was held to mark the Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s two years of governance, Felix spoke on a wide range of issues including the Panchayat elections.
“The election process has been delayed due to massive time taken on the ground on various aspects, such as delimitation, voters’ enrolment, and creating a fool-proof system”, Felix responded to the queries raised by reporters on the Guahati High Court’s direction to the state government to hold the Panchayat election by 31 December, 2018.
Felix, who is also the minister for RWD and IPR, said, “You are aware that we have shifted from the three-tier system to the two-tier system, for which necessary rules and regulations have to be put in place,”.
“As and when these processes are completed, we will hold the elections” he reiterated.
The minister also stated that the government has alerted the Panchayati Raj department to expedite the process.
“However, we are yet to get the final verdict order of the court and the government will take all steps to humbly comply with the order of the High Court” he said.
On the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy (TRP), Felix said the government will not allow any organisation or students’ union to take law into their hands.
“Grievances of any group or organisation shall be resolved through available democratic means, for which this government is always ready”, Felix said, while adding that “anyone taking law into their own hands shall be dealt with strictly”.
Touching on the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) subject, Felix asserted that strict action will be initiated against people involved in the TAH compensation issue, and assured that the government will have no second thoughts in taking action against those who compromise with the development activities.
Further, highlighting on the two-year achievements of Pema Khandu’s government, Felix assured that under the Saubhagya scheme, 44,806 un-electrified households will be electrified by 31st December, 2018.
“While 39,376 will be on-grid connections, 5,430 will be off-grid. This will ensure 100 percent electrification”, he claimed.
Assuring that the government of Arunachal Pradesh is making all efforts to ensure that the schemes reach the last mile, Felix informed that there are currently 60 prime minister flagship schemes and nine chief minister flagship schemes in the state.
