KANUBARI, Jul 30: The government higher secondary school (GHSS) here in Longding district had a reason to celebrate on Monday as the ADG NER has approved the creation of a National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit in the school.
Twenty-five cadets (out of the total 50 vacancies) will be raised in the first phase.
To mark the occasion, an ‘NCC raising day’ programme was organized by the school authorities, which was attended by, among others, ADC Taro Mize.
Mize applauded the new recruits and advised them to be bold and adventurous.
“Being an NCC cadet will greatly enhance your mental and physical calibre, and will hone your leadership skills,” he said.
The students and teachers of the school expressed appreciation for local MLA Gabriel D Wangsu, who was instrumental in bringing the NCC to the GHSS.
In his message, Wangsu advised the students to make the best use of the opportunity.
“The NCC will instill discipline and integrity in your life and, most importantly, you all will have an upper hand compared to other candidates during armed forces recruitment rallies,” he said. (DIPRO)
