YUPIA, Aug 16: Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Dr Joram Beda on Thursday directed line departments like education and women & child development (WCD) to ensure smooth implementation of the deworming programme under National Deworming Day (NDD).
Addressing a meeting here to discuss the first round of the NDD programme, the DC asked the WCD deputy director (DD) to instruct the anganwadi workers to avoid double dosing and to maintain a register countersigned by the DD to check irregularities in providing the doses.
He asked the DRCHO and the DMO to conduct awareness programmes to sensitize the children, parents and guardians to the benefits of the programme, and to instruct every school to maintain a health register countersigned by parents and teachers of the school.
DMO Dr Subu Tasso Kampu informed that last year the NDD target achievement of Papum Pare was 96%, and urged the MOs in-charge to make every effort to achieve hundred percent target this time.
The DRCHO made a presentation on NDD-2018, and proposed the action plan.
All MOs in-charge attended the meeting.
The first round of NDD will be launched on 27 August. (DIPRO)
