WESHI-II, Aug 17: Seppa West MLA Mama Natung on Thursday inaugurated a water storage tank (WST) and a community hall in Weshi-II village in East Kameng district.
The villagers of Weshi-II were without proper drinking water facility for the last 15 years.
“A long-felt basic need of the villagers has been fulfilled,” Natung said after inaugurating the WST. He said the villagers would now onwards face no drinking water problem.
This was the MLA’s first visit to the village after being elected unopposed from the constituency.
“My vision is to provide basic amenities like education, healthcare and road connectivity to every village under my constituency, and I am still working towards providing these facilities,” Natung said.
Responding to a memorandum submitted by the All Weshi Youth Welfare Association for construction of a road from Weshi-I to Weshi-II, Natung assured to place the matter in the SADA.
He also assured electrification of the village within a year.
The MLA contributed Rs 15 lakhs for construction of cement-concrete steps in the village. He also assured the villagers that he would take up with the department concerned their demand for construction of a primary school.
Natung appealed to the people from various villages to support development initiatives as it would benefit them, irrespective of their jurisdiction.
