Police beat house inaugurated

ROING, Aug 17: A police beat house equipped with security cameras and a public announcement system was inaugurated in the heart of the town here by Rajya Sabha Member Mukut Mithi on 15 August.
The ‘tourist unit’ of the district police, which is exclusively responsible for facilitating and providing support to tourists in need, will function from this beat house. The beat house will also monitor the CCTV cameras which have been installed in various parts of the town.
The district police also awarded cash prizes to the winners of the essay competition which had earlier been conducted among school children on topic related to drugs menace.
Iho Linggi, who had displayed sheer courage and determination in helping the fire tenders of the police department in trying to douse the 31 June fire in Roing market, was also rewarded with a commendation certificate and cash by the SP.
The district police also contributed Rs 50,000 to the fire victims through the Lower Dibang Valley district administration. (DIPRO)
