BOLENG, Aug 21: The final stages of preparations for the first ever angling festival, the Simang-Siang Angling Festival, here in Siang district is underway on a war footing.
The festival will be held from 23 to 25 August.
DTO TK Kopak informed that the organizers have constructed five eco-cottages to facilitate the participants, along with pandals, stalls, a camping area, a parking lot, a traditional reception counter, a medical aid centre, a security cell, and sanitary and well-maintained toilets.
He said the process of providing electricity and water connection to the venue is in the final stage.
There has been good response towards the upcoming three-day catch-and-release festival as a good number of anglers from the state and outside the state have confirmed their bookings for the event.
The Simang river, which flows near Boleng town, is popular for the Golden Mahseer. (DIPRO)
