ITANAGAR, Aug 24: A team from the capital complex district administration, led by CO Heera Panggeng and AMDO Tapong Ekke, along with the police on Friday carried out a checking drive against illegal mining activities to ensure that no unauthorized extraction of minor minerals are being carried out in the capital complex.
In the course of the drive, the team seized vehicles involved in illegal mining activities from the Jullang riverbed near the Central Jail area.
The capital complex administration had earlier issued an order banning all kinds of illegal mining activities within the capital complex. DC Prince Dhawan has directed the administrative officers to carry out regular checking drives to enforce the order and seize machines and equipment used for illegal mining.
The DC on Friday stressed that strict action would be taken against violators, and urged the denizens to refrain from carrying out illegal mining activities. (DIPRO)
